Representatives from Halo Monitoring will participate in this year’s Senior Helpers Conference and Vendor Expo, explaining to franchisees and staff how the innovative myHalo fall detection system can save lives, dollars, and bring peace of mind to seniors and their families.  You can see for yourself at www.halomonitoring.com

Halo Monitoring is the exclusive Personal Emergency Response Provider (PERS) of Senior Helpers Franchising, Inc. The agreement means Halo Monitoring’s myHalo automatic fall detection system will be available nationwide through all 300 Senior Helpers franchises.

Liz Hardy, the Sales Manager of Halo will be onsite at the Expo to meet the franchisees and promote the myHalo medical alarm. The event is scheduled for September 29- October 1 at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel.

“myHalo allows seniors to preserve their independence and live at home where it’s comfortable and familiar by assuring help will be called automatically if they fall, there’s no need to push a button,” says Chris Otto, CEO of Halo Monitoring. “While myHalo is not a substitute for professional care, there are many situations where seniors are unnecessarily admitted to skilled nursing facilities as a result of fall risks. myHalo can deter or avoid these admissions and extend the seniors stay at home.”

Through the use of a small, comfortable and wearable wireless device, the advanced myHalo system sends an automatic alert in the event of a fall.  myHalo is also the first system of its kind that allows family members or designated caregivers, using a secure website, the ability to check on an elderly loved ones’ situation without invading a senior’s privacy.

“myHalo is a family’s first line of defense in monitoring the wellness of an aging parent. By working with Senior Helpers, families with aging parents can be assured help is always available and someone is always checking on their loved one.” says Otto. “myHalo offers extra protection with 24/7 remote monitoring, and in the event of a fall you never have to press a button. Together, we offer seniors and their families a complete in-home care plan”

Huntsville, AL-September 13, 2011What if there’s a fall and nobody’s there to help?

It’s a question millions of American families with aging loved ones ask every day. Seniors prefer to live at home where it’s safe, comfortable and affordable – but someone with the ability to help needs to be close by, just in case. That’s why Halo Monitoring, maker of  myHalo, the most advanced medical alarm with automatic fall detection, is urging families to observe Fall Prevention Awareness Day on the first day of  Fall, September 23.

The statistics are alarming. The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports:

  • One out of three senior adults fall each year.
  • In 2007, 18,000 older Americans died from fall related injuries.
  • In 2008, 2.1 million older Americans were injured in falls.

“The technology behind fall prevention is getting better and better every year says Chris Otto, CEO of Halo Monitoring. “However, it’s important that families understand that despite all precautions, accidents still happen.  Even minor falls can turn deadly if a loved one is left alone for extended periods.  It is critical that help arrive within the first four hours of a fall.  myHalo is the first system of its kind and offers the most advanced fall detection available.  When a fall does occur, help will be called automatically, without the need to press a button.”

Through the use of a small comfortable, wireless device worn by a senior loved one, myHalo http://www.halomonitoring.com assures security for seniors and peace of mind for their caregivers.  The advanced myHalo system is the first wearable medical alarm that sends an automatic alert- no need to push a button- in the event of a fall.  In addition, while most medical alarms only react to an emergency, myHalo is the first system of its kind to monitor the user’s health and physical activity 24/7. Through the use of a private, secure website, the system provides the ability for designated persons and family to “look-in” on an elderly loved one for peace of mind without invading their personal privacy.

With fall prevention programs popping up across the country, the medical professionals at Columbus Regional Hospital are recognizing the importance in taking steps to reduce the chance of someone falling. “We like to be proactive rather than see them when they are black and blue with broken bones,” said Megan Allen, a physical therapist in the hospital’s Rehabilitation Center, where she works with patients in the Fall Prevention Program.

myHalo is considered a proactive decision by many family members choosing to purchase a myHalo medical alarm for their loved one.  Howard Long, a myHalo user says, “so far, Halo has been like insurance.”
