Chris A. Otto – Chairman and CEO
Chris A. Otto co-founded Halo Monitoring after examining the state of tools available for his own mother, who was providing care for his grandmother. Chris was a pioneer in wireless sensor networks for ambulatory health monitoring; he published a number of related articles in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and he published a Master’s thesis on this subject. His work has been recognized as a leading effort in the field of Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) for health monitoring. He has roughly ten years in real-time embedded design experience, and an extensive telecommunications background. He has nine pending patents in the fields of ambulatory health monitoring, telecommunications and wireless networks. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Engineering from University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Dusty Pritchett — Chief Financial Officer
With 30 years of management experience in finance/accounting, mergers and acquisitions, marketing and strategy, Dusty recently joined the Halo team as its Chief Financial Officer.
Dusty was a senior executive with Avocent Corporation (Nasdaq AVCT) for 10 years and held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Strategy Officer during his tenure. He led the merger between Cybex Computer Products Corporation and Apex, Inc. in 2000 and led the acquisition, due diligence and integration teams for numerous other acquisitions. Prior to joining Avocent, Dusty began his career in the Birmingham, AL office of Coopers & Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he served as the engagement partner on numerous clients in the manufacturing, healthcare, high tech, retail and financial industries. He later moved on and was the Chief Financial Officer for Barber Dairies where he led several acquisitions and the exit sale of the business to Dean Foods in 1998. Dusty lives in Huntsville, AL with his wife, Suzanne, who is President and CEO of her own successful small construction business. He is a private investor and serves on boards of several private companies and civic organizations.

Chirag Patel – SVP of Internet and Enterprise Technologies
Chirag Patel co-founded Halo Monitoring with Chris, and made the key observation that user compliance and ease of use hinges on a portable platform for caregiver connection. Chirag’s expertise in user interface design and web and database development fueled the industry’s first and most advanced continuous health monitoring and fault tolerant web application – the myHalo health server. Chirag holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from University of Alabama in Huntsville and an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Rutgers University.

Jerry R. Peterson — Director of Operations
Jerry R. Peterson joined Halo Monitoring in January of 2009 after many years of engineering, operations and general management success in product development. Immediately prior to joining Halo Monitoring he provided consulting to several firms to successfully move their high tech product concepts through development and preparation for customer shipment. Before that he led the development of engineering workstation systems for Intergraph and later became the president of Intergraph’s Intense 3D division in 1998. When the division was sold in year 2000 he became the general manager of the OEM Graphics Division of 3Dlabs. The division’s customers included Dell, Sun Microsystems, IBM, Fujitsu and others. Jerry holds a BSEE from Michigan Technological University and a MSE from Gannon University.

Hugh A. Hartwig — Director of Engineering
Hugh A. Hartwig joined Halo Monitoring shortly after its founding and has been instrumental in bringing the myHalo product to market. Hugh has nine years of real-time embedded design experience and product development including seven years in the telecommunications industry. Hugh holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology where he specialized in signal processing.
